Ivy League Vegan Conference

EARLY-BIRD TICKETS TO BE ANNOUNCED FOR OUR BIGGEST CONFERENCE YET — WE’LL SEE YOU AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA IN 2024

iV: The Ivy League Vegan Conference is an annual professional conference on plant-based diets and bioethics featuring renowned leaders from across the disciplines, and our 2024 conference at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) will be our largest, most feature-packed yet. The conference is open to the general public; affiliation with Penn is not required. However, we will be checking IDs to ensure you are on the list of attendees.¹ Our presenters represent a variety of fields including medicine, climatology, policy, industry, finance, and consulting. The iV sessions emphasize innovation, self-critique, and re-examination of a plant-based diet as an elegant solution to a host of pressing issues in an increasingly global community.

In this hallowed space, amidst the intellectual and ethical fervor, we gather to explore the virtues of veganism, a philosophy that transcends mere dietary choices and blooms into a vibrant tapestry of compassion, sustainability, and well-being.

Gone are the days of tofu crumbles and bland stereotypes. Veganism today pulsates with the energy of culinary innovation, bursting with flavor-packed dishes that tantalize every palate. We’re talking mouthwatering jackfruit tacos that whisper secrets of BBQ glory, creamy cashew cheeses that rival the finest dairy offerings, and vibrant, vegetable-powered desserts that redefine decadence. This isn’t a sacrifice – it’s a culinary fiesta for the senses, fueled by ethical awareness and a deep love for our planet.

But the iV Conference delves deeper than delicious delights. We stand at the precipice of a pivotal moment, where the virtues of veganism extend beyond the individual dinner plate. We see its transformative power in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, in the conservation of precious resources, and in the liberation of fellow sentient beings from the confines of factory farms. We envision a future where veganism isn’t just a personal choice, but a cornerstone of global health, environmental security, and ethical living.

CONFERENCE HISTORY

The groundwork for the iV Conference was first laid in the Fall of 2011 after leaders of the peer organizations comprising this conference initiated their plan to build a new vegan conference that would occupy a unique and important niche. After a few months, the groups had developed the conference’s first meeting which took place at Penn in March 2012. Since that time, the conference has grown in scope, attendance, and media visibility. Please click below for summaries of the previous years’ conferences.
